PRESIDENT UNIVERSITY STUDENT COUNCIL (PUSC) 2024 HELD THE PUSC - PUFA FORUM FOR THE FIRST TIME
CIKARANG, March 7th, 2024 - On Thursday, March 7th, 2024, PUSC held the PUSC - PUFA Forum at Theatre 3 on the second floor of the President University Convention Centre (PUCC). This forum was the first meeting between the PUSC and the President University Faculty Association (PUFA) organised by the PUSC. This event was an initiative of PUSC to facilitate dialogue between PUSC and PUFAs to discuss problems and issues they have been facing, with the hope of helping to bring them to the attention of University Management. The forum ran smoothly, and the discussion between PUSC and PUFA went well.
The Board of Directors of PUSC, PUFA, and Commission III of PUSC 2024 attended the forum. President University Faculty Association (PUFA) is a faculty-student executive board that reports directly to the Dean of the university faculty. Composed of five sections corresponding to the faculties at President University, which are Business, Humanities, Engineering, Computing and Medicine, the PUFA was established in September 2023 as a faculty-level organisation, preceding the President University Major Association (PUMA).
In the PUFA Speak Up Forum session, PUFA shared their challenges, such as the unavailability of meeting rooms for their needs and the need for more clarity about the PUFA work program, as it is relatively new. This session became a platform for PUFA representatives to share their obstacles and questions with PUSC. The forum continued with a discussion session between PUSC and PUFA to discuss the issue of PUFA. The discussion aims to alert PUSC to these issues and to assist their communication with Student Affairs and related parties. Structurally, PUSC is under Student Affairs, while PUFA is under the Dean of the Faculty. Therefore, some issues cannot be addressed by PUSC as they are beyond their control and authority.
PUFA representatives hope that the Student Affairs and the Dean of the Faculty can be directly present at the following forum to ensure a more direct resolution. The event concluded with a discussion session between PUSC and PUFA and a photo session.
This forum reflects PUSC's commitment to listening to student aspirations and working with faculty to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. As the highest legislative organisation of President University, encompassing all its constituent organisations, PUSC strives to play its role well. Through this forum, PUSC hopes to assist PUFA in communicating the issues and obstacles they face so that they can be better and maximally contribute to the progress of President University.
