INNOVERSE 2026: Unravelling the Secrets of Impactful Work with Yandy Laurens

INNOVERSE 2026 at Charles Himawan Auditorium, President University

Cikarang, 11 July 2026 – Under the tagline “Rise with Confidence, Shine with Impact”, Innovative Research Week (INNOVERSE) 2026 officially kicked off at the Charles Himawan Auditorium, President University, at 10.00 WIB. Initiated by Commission I (Research and Development) of the President University Student Council (PUSC) 2026, this Innovative Research Week was attended by 44 President University students, 13 participants from the wider community, and featured Yandy Laurens, director of the film “Sore: Istri dari Masa Depan”, as a speaker sharing his insights and experiences.

The INNOVERSE 2026 event opened with a session in collaboration with blu by BCA Digital. During this session, participants received a more in-depth orientation, including detailed explanations of why blu by BCA Digital is the digital bank of choice for the younger generation. The event then continued with a movie session of the series “Sore: Istri dari Masa Depan”, followed by an interactive research-based game sessions.

After the game sessions, the event continued with a talkshow featuring Yandy Laurens, an Indonesian film director, screenwriter and producer known for his works that explore humanistic stories closely tied to everyday life. Mr Yandy began by sharing a personal experience of a time when he had doubts about becoming a director, he had even considered switching to directing soap operas as that path seemed more feasible. From there, he shared his views on different forms of self-confidence, ranging from that which stems from one’s own skills to that gained by ‘borrowing confidence’ from others. Mr Yandy concluded the talkshow session with a powerful message for the participants to continue creating and making a positive impact through every work they produce, whilst emphasising that discipline is the key to achieving something meaningful in the future. He also added that self-confidence does not always stem from major successes, but can also grow from minor setbacks, which actually help to build one’s resilience and maturity. This was followed by an interactive Question and Answer (QnA) session and a lively discussion with the moderator and audiences.

To round off the INNOVERSE 2026 event, a number of sponsor stands were on hand to liven up the atmosphere, including Gramedia with its selection of books, HokBen, which supported the event with high-quality food, Wardah with its range of beauty products, and blu by BCA Digital, which once again engaged participants through its interactive stand. Additionally, the photo booth from JOI Imagination provided participants with the opportunity to capture their memorable moments. The event concluded with an energetic flashmob performance led by the organising committee and joined in by all participants, creating a warm atmosphere and leaving a lasting impression of togetherness and a spirit that continues to burn brightly.
